MAKE A HALLOWEEN BAT DECORATION!
...YOU WILL NEED...

1 EMPTY KITCHEN ROLL
PAINTBRUSH
PVA GLUE
2 WOBBLY EYES
BLACK PAINT
2 METRES OF STRING
A4 PAPER
A4 CARD
SCISSORS
OLD NEWSPAPER

Work on the old newspaper to protect the table from glue and paint. Start by assembling the bat ears using half a kitchen roll. Press the end inwards on itself. Do this on both sides.

Once they are both pressed in secure in place with small stripes of glued paper. TIP: If you use sticky tape, the paint won’t dry over it.

Flatten the other end down. Cut this end into a curved shape, and secure with glued paper.

Next part is the wings. TIP: A quick and easy way to make bat wings is to fold a piece of card in half, draw the wing shape from the center where you creased the card, then cut out, and the wings will be symmetrical.

Alternatively you can simply download and print a template of the bat wings (and instructions!).

If you cannot print onto thin card then cut out the printed template and use this as a stencil to draw onto card.

Once you have cut out the bat wings, cover the centre bit with glue and lay the middle of the string over the glue; stick this bit to the bat body. This is the back. Leave the glue to dry.

Next paint the bat and string in black paint and leave this to dry thoroughly.

Stick on the wobbly eyes and cut two little vampire teeth from the left over paper.

Finally knot the string and hang it up!
